Each of us comes to Shintaido
from a very different place, and
each practices as we can, where we can.
Are we all after the same thing?
What are we looking for?
What are we trying to achieve?
When Ito came to the Shintaido Farm
in October 2006, he brought us a sumi-e scroll
painted by Aoki-sensei,
the originator of Shintaido.
The calligraphy names the Shintaido Farm dojo
Ten Shin Kan” – Heavenly Truth Building. This kangeiko (cold weather practice), a
team of instructors will lead us in a variety
expressions of the ‘heavenly truths’
we can seek and find in Shintaido.
With their guidance, we will consider
the riches yet to be discovered
as we use our bodies to seek
the heavenly truth within ourselves.
