Pacific Shintaido – Advanced Workshop

It’s All About You!
This year the Advanced Workshop will take place in San Francisco on Saturday morning January 17, 2009. It is open to all practitioners who hold ranks of Graduate/Shodan and higher.
The content of the workshop will be generated by you, the students, who are hereby being invited to send proposals of what you want to work on via email to Jennifer Peringer prior to the event. The idea is for you to prepare a demonstration of the topic you want to discuss (for example, eiko kumite). The class will consist of a series of these prepared demonstrations, followed by feedback from Jim Sterling (for Bokuto), Shin Aoki (for Bojutsu and Karate), and Bela Breslau (for Open Hand). The feedback will then lead into various group activities for all members of the workshop, so that even people who haven’t prepared a demonstration can actively participate.
Please send in your proposals no later than January 1, 2009, to give the facilitators time to think about them. Also please don’t propose a demonstration of something you are going to be examined on the next day, since the exam process will already provide you with ample feedback from the same people.
