It has been pointed out to me that Ito Sensei may prefer to have notes on his recovery remain more private than having them posted on this website.
Therefore, we have created a mailing list for people interested in receiving updates.
To join, send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
David Franklin has added issues 6-9 of Body Dialogue to the newsletter archive.
They cover the time period of Spring 1997 through 2001.
To complement the Japan Shintaido Association website in English for the upcoming International gasshuku, we have created our own web page which contains information about SOA members attending MATSURI 2004, links to some photos of Japanese Shintaido practitioners, as well as links to Japan Railways website, and the Hotel.
If anyone has more information they would like to see added to the page, please send it to Rob Kedoin.
The goal of the new home page was to provide some more dynamic content such as the news headlines and a list of upcoming events.
The news section is here so we can share information about things that are happening in the world of Shintaido and so changes, like this one, to the web site can be announced.
Lastly, the contact page attempts to provide one place to find out how to contact someone in the organization. If you are looking for something and it is not listed on the contact page, please let the webmaster's know.
Shintaido of America has decided to offer grants to people who have ideas for promoting the growth of Shintaido. These grants are specifically for activities such as publicity, outreach, or advertising that will help spread Shintaido. Any member of SoA is eligible to apply for a grant.
For the year 2004, there will be $2000.00 available for grants, with a maximum of $750.00 per individual grant. Grant applications should be submitted by March 15.
The grant application is available from Member Resources.
There is an article about Shintaido Instructor Jennifer Hicks and an introduction to Shintaido appearing in the March 2004 issue of Fit Yoga magazine. You can find Fit Yoga at Barnes and Noble bookstores.
There are a number of color photos with special guests Brad Larson and David Franklin.
Jennifer can send you a copy of the article if you cannot find the magazine. She would also like to thank Fit Yoga and Susan Lebovits for their interest in Shintaido.
